Thomas Coville establishes a new solo record west to east across the North Atlantic with B&G pilot performance.
In fog that you could cut with a knife, Thomas Coville on his 32m long maxi trimaran Sodebo passed the Lizard, setting a new time for the west to east crossing of the Atlantic single-handed.
The giant red trimaran passed the Lizard at 07:17:40 GMT on the 15th July 2008 establishing a time of 5 days, 19 hours, 29 minutes and 20 seconds.
The previous record was set by Francis Joyon in his previous IDEC trimaran in 2005, with a time of 6 days, 4 hours, 1 minute and 37 seconds.
Sodebo is fitted with a B&G H2000 Pilot system. Once again the performance of the B&G pilot is proven with yet another record being broken with B&G onboard. Francis Joyon also chose B&G for IDEC that earlier this year took the single-handed, round the world record from Ellen MacArthur.
